Hello Fiesta ST community. I just thought I would take a second to introduce myself. For the better part of two decades I have owned a few different cars, including a bitchin Toyota pickup, a '99.5 Jetta, an old bimmer, a ford exploder, a ford focus (2.3 duratec 5-spd manual), an '04 focus SVT (silver, euro package, 3-door), an '04 Honda accord V6 coupe-6 spd. manual, a 2000 mercury grand marquis, and my current whip, an '03 Honda Civic coupe (EX - Manual).
The link between all these cars is basically the story of my adult life, but I won't bore you ALL the details. Instead I will briefly summarize why I want a Fiesta ST.
I sold my 2004 Focus SVT in 2008 and bought my Honda Accord. I basically traded handling for raw power. What the Focus could do in the twisties, the Accord could double on freeway on-ramps and the inevitable light to light. It seems ridiculous, but the VTEC pull from 5000-7000 in that 3.0 V6 was impressive, and the 6-spd was top notch.
When my grandpa passed, I inherited his 2000 mercury grand marquis and sold the Accord to some lucky kid who probably murdered it out. After driving the grand marquis, called "the bomber", for a while, I traded it in for a 2003 Honda Civic with round-about 90K on the odo. I've had the civic ever since. I describe it as "zippy" and "economical". It's a fun little car. It's not fast at all, but, if you can imagine Jeremy Clarkson: "It's Sporty!"
So that sums up my car history. Some cars along the way that I have desired and even considered purchasing include: Dodge SRT-4, Sentra SE-R specV, Civic SI ('07), 2005 Corolla XR-S, Acura RSX-S, Acura CL-S (6 spd).
Of all these cars I have owned, desired or considered purchasing at some point or another, recently or far back, the new Fiesta ST is at the top of this list. I think it is the best combination of fun, power, handling, looks, agility, and economy. So thanks for welcoming me to the community and I can't wait to buy one of these cars in the next couple years! Who knows, maybe if I hit it big I will import a 3-door from Europe
