My only suggestion is to make sure you get some good feedback on whomever you get to do the install. My guys were highly rated by my salesman and on the 'Net. If your UHaul outfit matches volume with quality service - go for it.
I just went to my local RV/trailer company ( http://www.restlesswheelsrvs.com/ ) and the lad crawled under the back, found the pre-wired stub and told me they'd splice a 4 wire pigtail to the prewire and install everything when they installed the hitch. quick and no worries. My local Ford...
Ok let's give this towing thing a test. Made the trip from Northern Virginia to Abingdon (about 350 miles) mainly on I66 and I81. My Ecosport titanium occasioonally struggled on inclines but I did maintain about 55-60 MPH. My milage towing my empty 5 x 8 Holmes Utility trailer (Class 2 -...
GREAT NEWS!!!
Got my little gem in for state inspection and 10k mile maintenance last Thursday. All went well and as I was paying for state inspection, chatted with the Service writer about the back up lines on the Nav screen not showing up till the care had been run for a while. He got his...
I love mine too. I just went to my local RV/Trailer folks and they did it all. they found the wiring, picked out the adapter, and mounted the hitch and everything else and about the same cost of just the FORD OEM harness what ever it is and where ever it lives and what ever the cost.
My guys did it for free, but I got the Extended Service Plan. Did you check out this link?

Mine took a while, but my Tech did not have the latest software on his laptop. I'd also...
I'm still pretty confident you still must upgrade Sync 3 to version 3.0 for Carplay/Waze to work. I had to go to my dealer to get the upgrade, the USB upgrade failed. It might work now, but back then the upgrade software was buggy and my Service guy had to update his laptop first.
Seems to be a reality, testing later today.
My main goal is to be able to switch between Sirius/XM weather map and Waze without pressing 100 buttons [wink]

I had my local RV guys do the job. Right at $400 for parts and labor. The Ford OEM hitch is almost $400 and then there is the wiring. The "Trailer Prep Wiring" plug had to be spliced as there is no OEM part available. The pain of an "Early Adopter". I'm really happy especially not paying...
Installed
Thanks to Scott finally got my hitch installed. I went to my local RV/Hitch place and got the Draw Tite. They had to splice the wires since Ford has been no help in getting the adapter from the "Trailer Tow Prep" package. I guess it did save me some extra labor installing the...

Scott,
thanks so much for your post. can you take a picture and post of the female plug you found and exactly where it was. Did you find it when you removed the plastic covering 'tween the bumper and the heat shield for the muffler?
Also do you have a picture of the finished hitch installed...
