Fitting a after market water temperature gauge

Hi everyone,
I have an 11 plate Fiesta titanium 1.4 and it doesn't have the water temperature gauge on the dash. What I would like to ask is what is the easiest way to fit one. I have the 28mm pipe splitter with a 1/8th npt thread and I want to use a digital oblong gauge not a round one, but the ones I have found have sensors with a M10 or 16mm thread
Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks in advance John
